The SED is our standard inch, shaft end drilling unit. The SED is a 2-piece tooling fixture that mates a drill bushing to the end of a round shaft or pin for drilling or c'drilling. The 2-piece design allows for interchangeable shaft and drill bushing sizes. Two 3/16" dia. pins offer precise alignment between shaft blocks and bushing blocks. The SED is ideal for drilling spacers or stand-offs on a drill press or in a bench vise using a hand drill. Both are faster alternatives to using a lathe. The SED is perfect for maintenance or construction, but is production capable.
The SED comes with seven one-pc split shaft blocks for shaft sizes 1/2, 5/8, 3/4, 7/8, 1", 1 1/8", and 1 1/4". The shaft blocks are split to allow for minor shaft size variations and for clamping, if needed, for hands free drilling.
The SED comes with two bushing blocks equipped with lockscrews and Acme type 'L' liners (1/2" and 3/4" IDs) that will accept standard Slip-Fixed Renewable drill bushings, 1/2" long, for drill sizes 9/64 thru 9/16". Drill bushings are not included.
The SED blocks have a black oxide finish. The unit comes with screws, an allen wrench and two plastic handles, packed in a shipping box that can double as a handy carrying case.
